UK GLASS GROWTH DEMANDS NEW HEADQUARTERS

Architectural glass specialist UK Glass has moved to a new 30,000 ft2 production facility in Iver, Buckinghamshire, twice the size of its previous base, in advance of an anticipated doubling of turnover within the next three years.

One of the areas that features prominently in the growth forecast is EVA lamination. “This enables architects to design structural glass with absolutely anything laminated inside it, including digital printed images, any colour combination and even organic items,” explains UK Glass Sales Director Warren Evans.

“We already have the largest EVA oven in Europe and have the exclusive UK rights to Spanish EVA specialist Hornos Pujol’s portfolio, which is generating huge interest from within the glass industry. The EVA business has doubled in size in the last 12 months. We are developing some very exciting new products related to EVA lamination and it is clear that the demand for this technology is huge and will continue to grow rapidly in the years ahead. In the light of the growth we have already experienced, and the projected growth ahead of us, it has been essential to invest in far larger premises and we will be investing in more skilled staff and machinery to realise the potential it provides.”
